Kirill Sheynkman Founder, President & CEO
Mr. Sheynkman is a database software executive who has spent the early part of his career in database sales and technology organizations of Oracle and Microsoft. Mr. Sheynkman was co-founder, President, and CEO of two successful startups: Stanford Technology Group which created the world's first Relational OLAP engine and was acquired by Informix/IBM in 1995 and Plumtree Software which created the world's first corporate portal for heterogeneous information (acquired in 2005 by BEA Systems). Between startups, Mr. Sheynkman was Entrepreneur in Residence at Sequoia Capital. Mr. Sheynkman holds a degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from Stanford University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
Stuart Charlton, Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Charlton specializes in the areas of systems architecture, RESTful web architecture, data warehousing and is an avid student of lean & agile approaches to business processes and product development. Prior to joining Elastra, Mr. Charlton was an Enterprise Architect with BEA Systems, where he co-developed SOA strategies for the global consulting practice, and was the lead SOA architect for the Canadian region. Prior to BEA, Mr. Charlton was the lead integration architect at Rogers Communications and was a consultant and trainer for over a dozen organizations in the United States, Canada, and Japan. He is the co-author of CodeNotes for J2EE, published by Random House in 2002, and has written for several leading industry publications.
Edward Kanner, Vice President of Finance and Administration
Mr. Kanner has over 20 years of experience serving in Controller, Director of Finance and CFO roles at both private and public companies. Mr. Kanner served as CFO at eWorld Systems, Discovery Therapeutics, Sanderling Ventures and Desmos, Inc. He was a founder and principal at Windy Hill and held leadership roles at Ernst & Young. He holds a BS in Accounting from California State University, Chico and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Peter Chiu, Director of Product Management
Mr. Chiu has over 10 years of experience as a technologist serving either as Software Engineer or a Product Manager for a variety of Fortune 100 companies. Prior to joining Elastra, Mr. Chiu was a Product Manager for search at Yahoo! Real Estate and managed one of Yahoo!'s largest Hadoop based processing systems. As an Engineer Mr. Chiu delivered mission critical enterprise software for Wall Street firms. Mr. Chiu holds a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Mehdi Ghazizadeh, Vice President of Business Development
Mr. Ghazizadeh has more than 15 years of industry and hands on experience in software and systems development lifecycles. Prior to joining Elastra, Mr Ghazizadeh was at Sun Microsystems where he started as a senior enterprise application software developer and subsequently held multiple senior engineering management positions working with ISV partners such as Oracle, SAP, BEA, PeopleSoft and Siebel. Later, Mr. Ghazizadeh held senior software engineering management positions with SaaS application and developer collaboration platforms within Sun's cloud computing organization, where he led several incubator projects into full products and SaaS offerings. Prior to his tenure at Sun, Mr Ghazizadeh worked as a systems architect and developer at NCR Corporation. Mr. Ghazizadeh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from University of California, San Diego and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Junaid Saiyed, Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Saiyed is a seasoned engineering management executive and technologist specializing in Utility/Grid computing, System Management and Web Services. Prior to joining Elastra, Mr. Saiyed was instrumental in forming EMC’s SaaS Division, as the Senior Engineering Manager for the online backup service and the SaaS Platform, where he hired and led the engineering team both in the US and overseas. Prior to moving to the the SaaS Division, Mr. Saiyed was a Senior Technologist reporting directly to EMC's CTO, where he was responsible for formulating the technical strategy guiding EMC’s foray into the System Management market, as well as participating in EMC acquisitions of SMARTS, nlayers, and others. Mr. Saiyed helped build a SOA based architectural framework to integrate EMC’s system management products. Prior to EMC, Mr. Saiyed was an architect in Sun’s Datacenter Automation Division (N1), where he was responsible for implementing the Policy Based Management Framework for the division's entire product suite. Mr. Saiyed has co-authored standards including WS-Eventing and WS-Management as well as the Service Modeling Language. Mr. Saiyed holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Purdue University.
