Junaid Saiyed

Junaid Saiyed, Vice President of Engineering

Mr. Saiyed is a seasoned engineering management executive and technologist specializing in Utility/Grid computing, System Management and Web Services. Prior to joining Elastra, Mr. Saiyed was instrumental in forming EMC’s SaaS Division, as the Senior Engineering Manager for the online backup service and the SaaS Platform, where he hired and led the engineering team both in the US and overseas. Prior to moving to the the SaaS Division, Mr. Saiyed was a Senior Technologist reporting directly to EMC's CTO, where he was responsible for formulating the technical strategy guiding EMC’s foray into the System Management market, as well as participating in EMC acquisitions of SMARTS, nlayers, and others. Mr. Saiyed helped build a SOA based architectural framework to integrate EMC’s system management products. Prior to EMC, Mr. Saiyed was an architect in Sun’s Datacenter Automation Division (N1), where he was responsible for implementing the Policy Based Management Framework for the division's entire product suite. Mr. Saiyed has co-authored standards including WS-Eventing and WS-Management as well as the Service Modeling Language. Mr. Saiyed holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Purdue University.

Edward Kanner

Edward Kanner, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Kanner has over 20 years of experience serving in Controller, Director of Finance and CFO roles at both private and public companies. Mr. Kanner served as CFO at eWorld Systems, Discovery Therapeutics, Sanderling Ventures and Desmos, Inc. He was a founder and principal at Windy Hill and held leadership roles at Ernst & Young. He holds a BS in Accounting from California State University, Chico and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Stuart Charlton

Stuart Charlton, Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Charlton specializes in the areas of systems architecture, RESTful web architecture, data warehousing and is an avid student of lean & agile approaches to business processes and product development. Prior to joining Elastra, Mr. Charlton was an Enterprise Architect with BEA Systems, where he co-developed SOA strategies for the global consulting practice, and was the lead SOA architect for the Canadian region. Prior to BEA, Mr. Charlton was the lead integration architect at Rogers Communications and was a consultant and trainer for over a dozen organizations in the United States, Canada, and Japan. He is the co-author of CodeNotes for J2EE, published by Random House in 2002, and has written for several leading industry publications.
